1. Introduction

Welcome to BiteCheck AI ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"), designed and developed by kreggscode. We believe personal health data demands the highest standard of privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our strict data handling practices, ephemeral image processing, and your rights.

BiteCheck AI is built from the ground up with a privacy-by-design architecture. You do not need to create an account, log in, or share your email to triage bug bites or track skin healing.

2. Information We Access & Process

2.1 Camera & Photo Library Access

  • Device Camera: We request camera access exclusively when you choose to scan a bug bite, sting, or skin rash.
  • Photo Library (Optional): If you select an existing bite photo from your device's photo gallery, the App only accesses the exact photo you select.
  • Ephemeral Real-Time Analysis: Bite photos captured or chosen for AI triage are sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our secure AI processing endpoint to analyze visual morphology, erythema ring diameter, and puncture patterns. Photos are processed in real-time memory and immediately deleted once the triage assessment is returned. We never store, catalog, sell, or train public AI models on your bite photos.

2.2 Bite Logs, Symptom Records & Local Device Sandbox

  • All your logged bite cases, progression photos, body location tags, itch/pain/warmth ratings, and doctor report exports are stored strictly locally on your device inside the sandboxed iOS filesystem and encrypted Keychain.
  • This data never syncs to third-party databases, tracking servers, or external marketing platforms.
  • You maintain 100% control over your data: you can delete individual symptom logs, archived bite cases, or reset all logs anytime directly in the App.

2.3 Conversational AI Triage Assistant

  • When you consult the 24/7 AI Triage Assistant regarding first aid, remedies, or tick removal, your queries are processed securely and ephemerally without associating your chat text with any personal identifier.

3. What We Never Collect

  • ❌ No Personal Accounts: No usernames, passwords, or emails required.
  • ❌ No Location Tracking: We do not collect or monitor your GPS coordinates.
  • ❌ No Contact or Address Book Access: We never access your contacts or messages.
  • ❌ No Third-Party Ad Trackers: The App contains zero third-party advertising SDKs or data broker trackers.
  • ❌ No Sale of Data: We will never sell, rent, monetize, or disclose your health or usage data.

4. Apple StoreKit & Subscriptions

  • All in-app purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions (Weekly Pro, Monthly Pro, Annual VIP) are managed securely by Apple through StoreKit.
  • Payment card details, billing addresses, and payment processing are handled exclusively by Apple. We never receive or store your financial information. For further details, consult Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Images: Discarded immediately after real-time computer vision analysis.
  • Local Data: All saved case histories and progression photos remain on your device until deleted by you, or automatically removed if you uninstall the App.

6. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)

Under applicable data protection frameworks including GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California), users hold the right to access, rectify, and erase their data. Because all your case data resides solely on your physical device, you can exercise full data erasure at any time simply by deleting individual logs in the App or deleting the App entirely.
