Welcome to Billscan AI ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"), developed by kreggscode. We are dedicated to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring your financial and receipt data remains strictly secure and confidential.

Billscan AI is designed with an uncompromising privacy-by-design architecture. We process receipts to extract line items, totals, dates, and vendors without storing your personal financial life on central servers.

2. Information We Access & Process

2.1 Camera & Photo Library Access

• Camera Access: We request permission to access your device camera solely when you take a photo of a paper receipt, bill, or invoice.
• Photo Library Access: If you select an existing digital receipt or image from your camera roll, the App accesses only the image you select.
• Ephemeral OCR Processing: Receipt images are converted to text using high-speed on-device OCR and secure encrypted API endpoints. Images are processed in real-time and immediately discarded once line items and numbers are extracted. We never archive or sell your receipt images.

2.2 Expense & Budget Data (Local Device Sandbox)

• All parsed receipt details, merchant names, expenditure categories, notes, and custom monthly budgets are stored strictly locally on your device in your secure app sandbox.
• We do not sync your raw financial logs to our servers. Your spending breakdown is yours alone.
• You can export your logs to CSV/PDF or erase individual expenses and receipts at any time within the app settings.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

• ❌ No Bank Account or Card Numbers: Billscan AI never asks for, accesses, or links to your bank accounts, credit card numbers, or online banking passwords.
• ❌ No Account Required: You can use Billscan AI without creating an account or providing an email address.
• ❌ No Location Tracking: We do not track your GPS location or movement.
• ❌ No Third-Party Ad Trackers: We do not include third-party data tracking SDKs or brokers.
• ❌ No Sale of Data: We never monetize, rent, or sell your financial data to third parties.

4. Third-Party Services & Apple StoreKit

4.1 Apple StoreKit (Subscriptions)

• In-app subscriptions (Weekly, Monthly, Yearly) are processed directly by Apple via StoreKit and the App Store.
• We never receive or store your billing information or credit cards. Apple manages your subscription in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy.

4.2 Security & Encryption

• All OCR communication between the app and AI endpoints uses strict TLS 1.3 / HTTPS encryption.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

• Receipt Images: Deleted immediately following real-time OCR extraction.
• Expense Logs: Stored locally on your device. Deleting or uninstalling the app permanently erases all local data stored on your device.

6. Children's Privacy

Billscan AI does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13.

7. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Under GDPR (EU/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California), you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data. Since all your financial entries remain on your local device, you have complete sovereignty to delete or export your records at any time.
