Welcome to SpeechBloom AI ("the Application"), developed and operated by kreggscode ("we", "our", or "us"). We understand the paramount importance of safeguarding your family's privacy, especially when it comes to young children developing essential communication and speech articulation skills. This Privacy Policy details our strict adherence to child data safety standards, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and global privacy frameworks.

1. Strict COPPA & Pediatric Data Protection

SpeechBloom AI is built with an On-Device Privacy First architecture. We adhere strictly to the COPPA Rule:

  • We do not collect, require, or transmit personal identifiers such as the child's last name, physical address, phone number, school, or email.
  • First names or nicknames entered during child profile setup are saved exclusively in your iPhone's local storage (UserDefaults / SwiftData) and are never uploaded to any remote server.
  • No behavioral profiling, ad tracking, or commercial data mining of any kind is conducted within the application.

2. Voice & Microphone Audio Processing

SpeechBloom AI utilizes the device microphone solely to enable speech therapy practice, real-time phoneme recognition, and vocalization feedback (such as our Sound Safari games and Articulation Lab):

  • Ephemeral On-Device Audio: Audio captured during practice is analyzed in real-time on your physical Apple device using local speech recognition frameworks. Audio snippets are held only in temporary system memory during acoustic scoring and are immediately discarded.
  • No Voice Recording Storage: We do not upload your child's voice recordings to cloud servers or third-party databases. Your child's voice belongs entirely to your family.

3. Local Clinical Progress Tracking

Speech therapy metrics—including phoneme mastery percentages, accuracy scores, practice streaks, and developmental milestone checklists—are stored locally on your device. These analytics empower parents to monitor articulation growth or share progress summaries with their speech-language pathologist (SLP). You may erase all progress data at any time via Parent Portal > Settings > Reset Data.

4. Subscriptions & Apple In-App Purchases

All in-app purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions are processed exclusively by Apple via StoreKit 2. We do not receive or store credit card numbers, billing addresses, or bank details. All transaction records and renewal statuses are verified directly with Apple's secure receipt infrastructure.

5. Parental Gate

To ensure young learners do not access external web links or make unintended purchases, all administrative features—including subscription management, customer support links, and diagnostic settings—are secured behind an interactive Parental Math Gate.

6. Third-Party Services & Zero Ads

SpeechBloom AI is 100% ad-free. We do not integrate advertising networks, tracking beacons, or cross-app analytics SDKs. Apple's native, anonymized crash reporting may be utilized if opted-in at the iOS level to resolve unexpected application termination.

7. Your Rights & Data Deletion

Because all profile information and speech analytics reside on your device, you have complete control over your data. Deleting the application or tapping "Reset Child Data" immediately wipes all saved progress, child profiles, and stickers.
